International Water Management Institute (IWMI)
“IWMI is a nonprofit scientific research
organization focusing on the sustainable use of
water and land resources in agriculture and on the
water needs of developing countries. IWMI works with
partners in the South to develop tools and methods
to help these countries eradicate poverty through
more effective management of their water and land
resources.”
IWMI’s headquarters are in Colombo, Sri Lanka with
regional office in Africa, Central Asia, Pakistan,
South Asia and Southeast Asia.
It is one of the 15 international agricultural research
Centers supported by the Consultative Group on
International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).

Inter-Centre Working Group on Genetic Resources
Each of the CGIAR Centres has a representative on
the Inter-Centre Working Group on Genetic Resources,
SGRP’s steering committee. The Committee sets the
strategy and priorities for SGRP and meets annually
to review its workplan.
